What do you really need to start fishing now?

So, you want to start fishing but you need to figure out how? Well, you are in the right place. In this blog post, you'll find everything you need to know about fishing, whether you are a beginner or a pro

    Predator fishing

Ok. Let's start from the beginning. To get yourself fishing you basically need just a rod, right?
Well....Kind of, but there are 3 types of fishing rods with their specific reel :

spinning rod

baitcasting rod

 fly rod

Now that you know what are the types of fishing rods, you need to choose one so you will be making the first good step into this sport. The perfect first rod for a beginner is a spinning rod.

Ok, a spinning rod is composed of the rod itself and the reel, in this case, a spinning one. The rod has to be thin and light so you'll not get tired after the first cast.

Cast? Well, casting means throwing your bait far into the water. And how am I supposed to do that? You might ask. Here are the steps:

1: Grip the rod in your dominant hand and hold it horizontally, so the reel is below the rod, facing the ground.

2: Reel in your line slowly, until you have 6-12″ of line hanging off the tip of your rod.

3: Align the line roller with your rod.

4:Pull the line of the roller with your index finger, holding it against the rod’s grip.

5: While maintaining your grip, use your free non-dominant hand to flip the reel’s bail up.

6: Bring the rod back up over your head just past vertical, and then use a forward-throwing motion, releasing the line with your index fingers as your arm is at 45 degrees.

What about the reel? Well, you need to buy a small one. They came in sizes like 2000-3000, 4000-5000 and so on. Now because you have a light spinning rod the reel has to be the size of 2000-3000.

I recommend buying a combo spinning rod so you don't need to do any work.

Ok. But what do I cast (throw) in the water? Well now has come the time to speak about baits. To get predatory fish at the end of your line you will need lures. There are a lot of shapes and sizes that you can choose from but I will show what's necessary.

1. Soft Lures ( 5.5-12 cm)

2. Wobblers (4- 10 cm)

That's all you need to buy.

What about Knots? The only one you need at the beginning of the journey is the easiest one, called the Fishermen Knot.

Ok! I think you are already bored, but that's all you need to know about starting to fish. I hope you enjoyed it, and I'll see you in the next post.
